Gov. Beshear: LOGOMAT Automation Systems to Expand in HebronDecember 4, 2015
FRANKFORT, Ky. – LOGOMAT automation systems Inc., which develops, manufactures and services high-precision conveyor systems for assembly and test applications, will expand its Hebron facility with a $1.02 million investment and create 12 jobs, Gov. Steve Beshear announced today.
“LOGOMAT has become an essential corporate partner in northern Kentucky over the past 15 years, and this major expansion ensures that will continue well into the future,” Gov. Beshear said. “Northern Kentucky is a hub for growing businesses with nearly 60 companies locating or expanding in the region this year alone. Companies such as LOGOMAT serve as models of how to continue that success.”
LOGOMAT will expand its 22,300-square-foot facility at the Northern Kentucky Riverview Business Park in Hebron by 11,600 square feet. The company’s $1.02 million investment covers the cost of land, construction and new equipment. The expansion will allow LOGOMAT to increase its production while improving lean-process operations and storage. Construction will be completed this month.
The company plans to hold an open house at its facility in early 2016.
“We at LOGOMAT are still very satisfied and pleased with our decision to build up our American facility in the Riverview Business Park,” said Philipp Krups, president and CEO of LOGOMAT. “The recent major expansion of our facility is the visual sign of our growth and the increased business we could generate within the past years. Our customers will benefit from quicker lead times and better availabilities, as well as from maintenance trainings and product presentations in our new product show room.”
LOGOMAT, a subsidiary of German-owned KRUPS Fördersysteme GmbH, maintains a production facility in Germany and service offices in Brazil and China. LOGOMAT provides its customers with tailored, end-to-end services from project planning, engineering and production to software-controls integration, maintenance and support.
Kentucky saw great success last year in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) with nearly a third of new investment and more than 20 percent of new jobs coming from FDI projects. The Commonwealth is home to 447 foreign-owned companies from 33 nations, employing nearly 90,000 people.
Since January 2013, 29 German-owned facilities announced new locations or expansion projects in Kentucky, creating more than 1,200 full-time jobs through the collective investment of more than $488 million.
“I congratulate LOGOMAT on the company’s success and growth in Hebron,” said Sen. John Schickel, of Union. “LOGOMAT is one of many German-owned enterprises that have found homes and invested in our region, creating thousands of jobs for Kentucky residents.”
“LOGOMAT has found a successful North American advanced manufacturing base in Northern Kentucky,” said Rep. Diane St. Onge, of Lakeside Park. “I am pleased that LOGOMAT’s executives are expanding their facility by a third in Boone County and adding new jobs for our residents. The entire region benefits from such growth.”
“LOGOMAT has expanded several times since locating and creating jobs in Boone County 15 years ago. We’re thrilled with the company’s growth,” said Boone County Judge-Executive Gary Moore, chair of Northern Kentucky Tri-ED. “LOGOMAT is a prime example of northern Kentucky’s thriving advanced manufacturing industry. This expansion was facilitated by NKY Boost, Tri-ED’s award-winning program to help existing companies grow in our region.”
