Northern Kentucky ezone
Northern Kentucky ezone, a division of Northern Kentucky Tri-ED and located in Covington, is designated as one of Kentucky's regional Innovation and Commercialization Centers. Since launching in 2001, the ezone has served more than 260 local entrepreneurs and created $132 million in investment.
Northern Kentucky University College of Informatics
Dedicated in 2011, Griffin Hall, home to NKU’s $53 million state-of-the-art College of Informatics, supplies new workforce talent, technically skilled and broadly prepared to strengthen the Northern Kentucky region’s information economy. One of only three informatics schools in the nation, NKU's College of Informatics is perfectly suited for the high-tech workforce a business needs to succeed. In July 2012, The College of Informatics was profiled by PC Advisor, in an article on how the school is capitalizing on the growing informatics industry.

Recent economic development announcements for Northern Kentucky’s informatics companies include:
- E-learning provider TiER1 Performance Solutions and Gateway Community and Technical College are partnering to create the nation’s first associate degree program in instructional design and learning technologies at the future Gateway campus in downtown Covington, KY.
- UpTech, Northern Kentucky’s business super-accelerator program, accepted eight start-up companies in the informatics sector, as part of the first round of companies for this new program. The Lane Report recently profiled the UpTech program and how it is boosting the informatics industry in Northern Kentucky and the Cincinnati region.
