Covington The Cincinnati Core Based Statistical Area (CBSA) encompasses Northern Kentucky, Southeast Indiana, and Southwest Ohio. According to 2006 estimates, it is the 26th largest metropolitan area in the USA with a population of more than 2 million people. The three counties of Northern Kentucky are a submarket of the Cincinnati CBSA.
