Parks and Recreation

Greater Cincinnati has one of the largest networks of public parks of any major U.S. metropolitan city. More than 25,000 acres of land are dedicated to public recreation:
- More than 75 public golf courses and 34 private golf clubs, some with national recognition, are available.
- More than 20 state parks are within a two-hour drive.
- Bicentennial Commons, a 22-acre recreation park at Sawyer Point in downtown Cincinnati on the Ohio River, features tennis and volleyball courts, a skating rink, children’s playground, walking trails, an entertainment pavilion, and numerous other recreational activities.

Public recreational outlets abound in Northern Kentucky:
- More than 7,000 acres have been developed in the three-county area for recreational purposes.
- Facilities vary from undeveloped wooded nature retreats to fully developed recreational centers with swimming, tennis, horseback riding and other facilities to centers for organized team sports of all kinds.
- Twelve public golf courses have been developed in Northern Kentucky in recent years.
