Faith Based Associations and Outreach

Basilica of Assumption Covington

There are several interfaith agencies active in the Northern Kentucky region. They are as follows:

BeConcerned
A subsidized food program for low income families, clothing store, Christmas Store in December, Easter baskets in spring.

Brighton Center, Inc.
A subsidiary of Brighton Center. BPI is responsible for the property management. BPI is dedicated to creating affordable, quality housing for both rental and homeownership opportunities to Northern Kentucky.

Covington Community Center
The Center provides individuals and groups with opportunities to discover and develop their skills, gain access to resources, and actively contribute to positive neighborhood development that benefits the entire community.

Faith Community Pharmacy
The St. Vincent dePaul Community Pharmacy dba Faith Community Pharmacy has been in operation since March 2002. For assistance with medications and hours of operation call 859-426-7837.

Habitat for Humanity 
A non-profit Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate substandard housing by building decent, affordable homes to sell to low-income families.

HealthPoint Family Care
HealthPoint Family Care is a nonprofit health care organization, offering primary medical and dental care to the homeless and the uninsured.

Hospice of Northern Kentucky
An affiliate of Hospice of the Bluegrass, providing end-of-life care to residents in the Northern Kentucky community. Additional programs include CIDAO (Crisis is Danger and Opportunity) a weekend retreat program for teens, and Camp Great Escape, a weekend camp for families to provide support after experiencing death of a loved one.

Interfaith Hospitality Network 
It is in the Madison Area and serves homeless families by mobilizing religious communities to provide shelter and meals, by working with families to overcome barriers to self-sufficiency and by raising awareness of social justice issues.

New Hope Center 
Provides a holistic range of free and confidential, compassionate services for women and families experiencing untimely pregnancies.

Goodwill Industries
Telephone: 513-771-4800    As a member of Goodwill Industries International, the local organization is a part of the world's largest and most successful network providing employment and training services for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment.

Parish Kitchen
Telephone: 859-581-7745  Serves a full hot meal daily from 11:30 – 1:30.

Pure Life Ministries
Telephone: 859-824-4444   Pure Life Ministries exists to provide Christian biblically based counseling, teaching materials and a public speaking ministry.

Redwood School and Rehabilitation Center
Telephone:  859-331-0880   The mission of Redwood is to assist children and adults with disabilities to function to their highest potential within the family and community, by providing educational, therapeutic, and vocational programs and life experiences.

Saint Vincent dePaul Stores
Telephone: 859-341-3212   Accepts donations of clothing and household items for resale. Call for volunteer opportunities.

Sisters of Notre Dame
Telephone: 859-291-2040    Proclaiming God's Goodness and Provident care by living Gospel values in vibrant communities, by promoting Catholic education, especially for women and for children in urban and mission schools, and by fostering the fullness of life, especially for people who are poor, sick and aged.  Call for volunteer opportunities.

Welcome House
An emergency shelter for women and children, emergency assistance, case management services, Protective Payee program, and housing program. For assistance call 859-431-8717.

Women's Crisis Center
Telephone: 491-3335    Providing immediate access to effective crisis intervention, support and personal attention to victims and survivors through a safe and nurturing environment for adults and children.  Please call for volunteer opportunities.

 

There are more than 250 churches in the three county area of many denominations to provide support and spiritual guidance.
