Electric 
Electric service in Northern Kentucky is provided by two companies – Duke Energy and Owen Electric Cooperative.
Duke Energy
Duke Energy (formerly Cinergy Corporation), headquartered in Charlotte, NC., serves 1.6 million electric customers and about 500,000 gas customers in a 25,000-square-mile service territory encompassing Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
Duke Energy entered the Northern Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana markets in April 2006 through a merger with Cinergy Corp.

Duke Energy Fuel Cost Adjustment
Duke Energy Kentucky is seeking approval from Kentucky utility regulators for three programs that will encourage economic development through reductions in electric rates for use of unoccupied buildings, brownfield sites, major expansions and new businesses. Owen Electric Cooperative
A consumer-owned electric distribution corporation, serving most of the nine north-central Kentucky counties.
OEC serves the suburban and rural areas of the three-county area.
Service reliability, along with bench mark efficiency, have allowed OEC to reduce rates in excess of 14% since 1983.
