Welcome to Northern Kentucky
Northern Kentucky is a web of connections both obvious and subtle.
We’re a one-day drive from 60% of the U.S. population, the nexus where three interstate highways meet, including I-75 linking Michigan to Florida. We’re home to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky international airport, which offers 165 peak-day flights, is home to DHL’s North American hub and is the soon-to-be-home of Amazon's Prime Air cargo hub.
The Ohio River brought the area’s first settlers and defined our frontier character for generations, and it remains a vital transportation artery today. Major east-west and north-south railroad lines cross here.
We’re a key part of the 15-county Greater Cincinnati region, a thriving metro area with nine Fortune 500 companies; professional sports teams; major arts and cultural institutions; prominent public and private universities; a new modern streetcar line; and nationally-recognized restaurant, craft beer and live music scenes.
“I love the access to big-city amenities around Cincinnati, but I also support my neighborhood businesses and volunteer at my kids’ school.”
Candace McGraw, CEO of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport
But we also celebrate our own identity around supportive communities, historic neighborhoods and Kentucky’s famous bourbon and horse culture. We connect the north and south, the Midwest and Southeast, and we welcome everyone.
We take care of newcomers and long-time residents alike. We help develop resources and infrastructure to support economic development and will work with you to start or expand business operations here. And we don’t forget about you once you’re established — our NKY Boost program connects businesses with solutions to sustain current operations and accelerate growth.
Connect with us, and we’ll connect you throughout Greater Cincinnati and beyond.
